Suntown-Out On A Limb
Listen to Suntown-Out On A Limb ^ Michael Tevlin, vocal (Ricky), Deby Ellis, vocal (Margo), Jeffery Kaufman, vocal (Gaylord)
RICKY:
You can step high in this town,
Kiss the sky with a crackling sound.
You can be what you want to be,
Come make your place here, come live in grace here,
Have nothing to fear, make your place here.
TOWNFOLK (whooping it up):
In Suntown! In Suntown!
Climb a mountain and touch the sky,
Your soul is deep and your heart is wide.
Here you are what you want to believe,
Have nothing to fear, make your place here.
TOWNFOLK (whooping it up, joking around):
In Suntown! In Suntown!
That's right, everybody dance, everyone whoopee!
Your miserable lives, you're a sight to see.
Suntown's disgrace, Suntown's plague,
Is their fervent belief that they've found their way.
But the bastards are lost, no hand of providence will
Their brows cross, by god!
RICKY:
Take a gallon of ornery and a pint of sweet, go ahead and mix it,
Stir in a little sassy and a whole lot o' fun.
Mix in equal parts of passion and greed, go ahead and shake it,
Bake it with freedom - you've got me when it's done.
Well I'm out on a limb; it's the tune I sing.
I don't dig up today for what tomorrow brings.
If opportunity's gone and my light goes dim,
You can find me hanging on, out on a limb.
BO:
He's a golden boy on a skinny limb,
Talk of Suntown, gives our heart a dance.
But he don't care if you stop and stare,
He just smiles and waves, not afraid of another chance,
Out on a limb!
RICKY:
Cold blue metal firecracker fueled, go ahead and pop it,
Spinning out of sight in the blue canopy.
Destination unknown with hot silver spurs, go ahead and spin it,
Jet stream history, brave tomorrow before me
RICKY and BO:
Well I'm out on a limb; it's the tune I sing.
I don't dig up today for what tomorrow brings.
If opportunity's gone and my light goes dim,
You can find me hanging on, out on a limb.
RICKY:
La la out on a limb now, la la out on a limb, yes sir.
RICKY and MARGO:
I'm living free and my love is found.
My blemished life never gets me down.
It's ok to come up short,
I've got enough, don't have to be tough.
A blistered blemish that I give up to love -
TOWNFOLK:
In Suntown! In Suntown!

TOWNFOLK (whooping it up, joking around):

Lights dim to half as the town folk slow down their dancing around to slow motion. A spot on Gaylord in clean white shirt and slacks enters beside the bar front stage left, eyes the proceedings with contempt.GAYLORD:

Gaylord is disgusted, exits stage left. Lights up again as the town folk rise up in their whooping it up and dancing to the song's end.OUT ON A LIMB
